Crisis Fuel

Crisis Fuel Assistance

If You Have a Home Heating Emergency or are low on fuel or electric service to be disconnected …

The Crisis Fuel Program is available at your local community action agency office from the last Monday in November through the end of April.

During Regular Business Hours Mondays through Fridays
If you are facing a heating crisis (you are low on fuel, or have run out of fuel), you should go to your local Community Action Agency for help through the Crisis Fuel program. (See below for the Agency in your area.)

Don’t run your tank dry – it can damage your heating system, leave you and your family cold, and cost unnecessary delivery charges. If you have received a disconnection notice from your electric company, and electricity is required to run your heating system or you have electric heat, you may be eligible for assistance through the Crisis Fuel program.

Seniors and Adults with Disabilities     If the head of the household is a senior (age 60 or older) or a disabled adult they can apply for Crisis Fuel assistance over the phone. Call your local community action agency to apply.
